| One of the hardest parts
of any remodeling project is, understanding the entire
process. We realize that communication is a large role
in a healthy contractor-homeowner relationship. It is
our goal to listen to you and help you as homeowner’s
gain what it is you are striving for. Every project is
unique though each is comprised of similar steps.
|
1. The Goal
Having a clear
goal before beginning a project is a great idea.
During this step you may or may not have a clear
idea of exactly what it is you want. No matter if
you have your idea or are not 100% sure, contact
us, we can help. This is our initial contact with
you and this is when we will schedule a time to
come to your home and meet with you. We will spend
the majority of this time listening to you and
trying to answer some of the questions you may
have. We will take some measurements and pictures
which will help us determine an initial cost
evaluation, typically based on square footage.

|
2. The Cost
We realize that
many people just would like to know, “What it is
going to cost?” We do our best after our first
meeting to work up some rough numbers. At this
point these are simply estimates of work and not a
final contract. Before putting together these
estimates we often do some basic design to make
sure what we have discussed can structurally be
done. This often includes research and estimates
from specialized sub contractors that may work on
your project. We try at this step to work up an
accurate estimate, but it is just that, “an
estimate.”

|
3. Let’s
Proceed
At this point we
have given you an estimate of the work to be done
and you have decided to go forward. The project
now enters the design and contract phase. During
this time we will fully design and price your
project. When we work up a design it is a complete
set of drawings including a list of materials that
we plan to use on your project. We will sit down
and discuss all aspects of the project with you.
We will also work with you to fine tune the
design. The contract will be written up and will
be discussed with you. You will have the
opportunity to look it over then sign the contract
to finalize it.
|
|
4. Get it
Moving
Your contact will
have a detailed payment schedule with draws to be
paid out when certain phases of the project are
completed. Typically on an addition the first
phase will be a completed foundation and the draw
will reflect that amount. Once we have the
contract signed we move forward immediately with
permit submission documents so we can get the
permit as soon as possible. Once the permit is in
hand your job will begin and your dreams will
start to become reality.
|
|
5. Finish it
This biggest part
of your project is to make sure it is completed.
This means everything is cleaned up and the last
outlet cover is on. We pride ourselves on
completing the job with quality and
professionalism. We will discuss the project with
you and make sure everything has been completed.
The final payment will be made and you will enjoy
your new space for years to come. We want you to
be able to show off your new space to all your
family and friends. Hey maybe you’ll even tell
them about the Kelly’s.

Remember to
Communicate!!!
| Throughout the
entire process remember to communicate with us. We
are open to your ideas and in fact many times they
are great. We work together with everyone and we
make ourselves available. We can be reached by
email, or call either one of us directly. We are
on the job Monday through Friday so don’t be
surprised if you hear tools in the background. If
we don’t answer we are probably unable to at that
time, but leave a message and we’ll get back to
you as soon as we can. Even if you think your job
is something we don’t do, give us a call, we
probably know someone who does. |
